What does it mean to hand down a company?
For a company to keep growing for generations, how should the business be passed on to the next generation? And how should the people who support management, and the company's philosophy, be inherited and carried into the future?
More than shares and assets: how do we pass on the life of the business, the strength of its people, and the philosophy and aspirations of its leaders? Mr. Nagatsu has stood beside owners of small and medium-sized companies for more than twenty years. Drawing on today's successor problem and M&A landscape, he will describe how succession can be approached through three kinds of inheritance: business, people and philosophy.
Succession is one of the most important subjects for any owner-manager. We hope this will be a time of many insights for your management and your life ahead, and we look forward to welcoming many of you.
About the speaker
Mr. Hiroyuki Nagatsu, Certified Public Accountant and Tax Accountant
Mr. Nagatsu opened his own accounting practice in August 2004. Rather than limiting himself to ordinary accounting work, for twenty years he has supported small and medium-sized companies from the inside as a management adviser, outside director and outside auditor, working with about fifteen client companies at any one time, many of them led by former Seiwajuku members. As more of his clients approach a change of president, he helps companies that grew on a philosophy to find good ways, and build the process, to pass on the business, the senior staff and the management philosophy.
